The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and qualified urban planner as an integral part of the team of professionals which manages all urban planning and redevelopment applications across Peregrine Corporation. We require a pro-active individual with initiative and strong commercial acumen.
In this role you will work remotely with full support from our Adelaide based Head Office team as an employee of PC Infrastructure Pty Ltd, Peregrine’s development division. Your primary responsibility will be in relation to development applications and approvals in New South Wales, which is a significant focus of Peregrine’s plans for growth.

What will you be responsible for?
You will be an integral member of the team of professionals which plans, implements and manages all urban planning and redevelopment applications. Be a part of a growing business where you will be interacting daily with different stakeholders in an exciting and fast paced business.
Identify and pre-empt planning issues during the network planning and design process
Liaise with Councils and other regulators, specialist consultants and in-house members of the Peregrine development team to provide advice during the due diligence and design phases.
Prepare development applications of varying sizes and complexity
Interact with specialist consultants and other technical professionals and other internal and external stakeholders within multi-disciplinary planning projects
Manage projects and work collectively with the business development team and architectural and external consultants to ensure plans are completed on time and to agreed standards
Facilitate compromises with external stakeholders to achieve satisfactory outcomes and secure approvals
Assist Project Managers in relation to interpreting and complying with DA conditions and with obtaining construction certificates
Utilise understanding of statutory planning principals at the strategic and technical level to provide practical and expert internal planning advice and input in planning services
To be successful in this role, the following are desirable:
Qualifications in Town Planning/Urban Planning
General planning experience in both strategic and statutory planning either from a local government or consultancy background, with experience in NSW an essential requirement of the role.
Extensive knowledge of all laws, regulations, processes related to the town planning process in New South Wales, and a willingness to develop corresponding knowledge in relation to another or other Australian jurisdictions.
Experience undertaking master planning commercial projects and exposure to a variety of planning applications, but predominately commercial development and redevelopment activities.
Experience with local government.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
Police Clearance.
Driver’s Licence.
