The Cash & Bank Accountant contributes to the preparation of the financial accounts of the business. They ensure that transactions appearing in our bank accounts are correctly identified, matched and reconciled to the transactions within our ERP. The successful candidate must have an understanding of the retail cash cycle originating from the Point of Sale, transiting through merchants & partners and finally landing in the banks. They should demonstrate exposure in reconciling cash balances at every point within the retail cycle. The candidate should also have exposure in managing system based bank reconciliations with high volumes of data.

What will you be responsible for?
Perform bank reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled items where these are due to internal unrecorded transactions
Develop and maintain automated matching rules between bank statements and other ERP modules
Reconciliation of POS clearing accounts
Reconciliation of merchant accounts
Balance and reconcile loan payments
Identify unmatched cash/bank transactions and liaise with other Finance/Accounting team members to request the appropriate postings to be generated
Pass journals in the ERP to move/transfer cash between general ledger accounts
Investigate basic issues or anomalies in the accounts then recommend and prepare corrections and process improvements
Contribute to the accuracy of the trial balance
Analyse accounts and supply data in response to basic requests from the business
Build relationships with internal stakeholders to develop an understanding of the business
Apply business knowledge to improve the quality and accuracy of the financial accounts
Any other tasks as requested from time to time
To be successful in this role, the following are desirable:
Full qualification from recognized accounting body is preferred.
At least 3 years’ financial accounting experience on month end closing tasks and balance sheet reconciliations.
The ability to work unsupervised and maintain exceptional standards across the park.
The ability to multitask, prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
The ability to collaborate effectively with the team to achieve common goals.
Problem solving and investigative skills with good attention to detail.
Multiple accounting systems are utilised by the finance team so the ability to understand and work across systems is critical.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Exposure to ERP systems, D365 preferred.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Experience in recreational, motorsport or hotel sectors is desirable but not essential.
